Magee is a 5th generation Irish family business with over 150 years’ experience in designing, weaving and tailoring cloth and clothing in Donegal Town. The Company operates across manufacturing, wholesale, retail and e-commerce.

We are recruiting for the following role at our Retail store on The Diamond, Donegal Town:

Sales Assistant (Full-time)

Retail Sales Assistant - Magee of Donegal

The successful candidate will work across all departments and will join a great team of enthusiastic and energetic people so you will need to be a good team-player whilst also being able to work on your own initiative. Ongoing on-the-job training will be provided. The store is open Monday – Saturday and on Sundays during peak season so flexibility is essential.

Key requirements are:-

  • A dynamic and enthusiastic personality with a passion for selling and the desire to increase sales.
  • Exceptional communications and customer service skills providing an unforgettable in-store experience.
  • Attention to detail in all areas.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience selling high quality products in a similar retail environment.

A vacancy exists for a Store Manager at our flagship store on South Anne Street, Dublin. The store opened in March 2016 selling Mens’, Womens’, Home and Accessories Collections. The collections incorporate fabrics designed and produced at our Weaving Mill in Donegal Town. A Made-to-Measure tailoring service is available.

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER - FULL-TIME

Assistant Store Manager - Magee of South Anne Street

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Deputising for the Store Manager and supervising staff in his absence.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service standards, ensuring that the customer experience is personal and productive. Upselling as appropriate.
  • Learning how the Made to Measure service works and ensuring that the end result is a garment delivered to the customer on time and on spec.
  • Keeping up to date on web products, availability, any special offers and warehouse deliveries.  
  • Ensuring high standards of visual merchandising and general housekeeping in line with the premium quality standards of Magee.  
  • Store security. Making sure that all till procedures, cash handling/banking, opening and closing procedures are clearly understood and complied with by all staff. Minimising any potential for stock losses. 
  • Complying with all health and safety guidelines. 

Key requirements are:-

  • Some experience in a similar retail environment selling high quality menswear, womenswear and accessories. 
  • A passion for selling with the ability to achieve and exceed sales targets. 
  • The ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills.

The store is open seven days a week so full flexibility is essential. A competitive salary and commission is offered plus a staff discount and company pension scheme and a generous workwear allowance after a qualifying period.
