Today, five generations on from the beginning of Magee 1866, we appreciate and honour our past, while nurturing our future. Our core family values at Magee 1866 also foster a strong sense of community and of place in County Donegal, Ireland. We look to the future with confidence, knowing that we have over 150 years of wisdom and craft guiding our path.
Our weaving mill in Donegal Town, Ireland, on the banks of the River Eske, is still the beating heart of everything we do at Magee 1866. We are proud to support a tradition of weaving and manufacturing textiles in the northwest of Ireland, bringing a contemporary edge to an age-old craft.
Our location in County Donegal offers endless and ever-changing inspiration for our design team. From the rugged coastline to peaty bogs, to open skies and rolling hills, the Irish landscape offers a deep well of colour and pattern to draw from. We are always looking for ways to envelop our heritage in new and exciting ways through contemporary design.
Natural fibres like wool, cashmere, flax and alpaca are at the heart of everything we do. These natural fibres are renewable and biodegradable, coming from all-natural sources for a rich, soft feeling that can’t be imitated. Every piece from Magee 1866, whether it’s tweed by the metre or an overcoat, is made to stand the test of time. Our dedication to slow fashion is just one of the ways we hope to protect our future for generations to come.
